ways to support our family

I never dreamed in a million years that I would have a major life crisis, especially one that involved my baby. I always knew there was so much love out in the world, but we have been so surprised overwhelmed by all of the love that has been given to Trek and our family.

We keep getting messages asking us how people can help us. It is hard to ask for help, it is even more intimidating and hard when you really need it. We have had so much kindness poured in our path and we are thankful for everyone that has made this time a little easier.

Here are 4 ways you can help Trek and our family

1. Send your love, prayers, and kind words. I cannot stress enough how much this means to us. I read every comment on the blog, every email, every facebook comment and they stay with me. I can really feel all of the love and support from everyone and it makes such a difference.

2. Share Trek’s story. Trek’s life is so much shorter than it should be. It breaks my heart to know he won’t have the chance to experience all the amazing and beautiful things in this world. It hurts me even more that people will never get the wonderful pleasure of meeting and knowing him. If you share his story with your friends and family, on facebook, or any other way it can show the world how amazing and wonderful Trek Atlas Ingram is!

Click here to “like” Trek’s page on facebook, you can even ”share” it from there too!

3. Read Following After Trek. Trek’s daddy, Jarrett, is an author and his first published novel is a tribute to Trek’s life. It is Trek’s story from his birth in the driveway until his death in my arms in Thailand. It is a beautiful portrayal from a father’s point of view. It is intertwined with a fiction story of a man who follows after his son and will stop at nothing to find him.You can find Following After Trek in paperback on Amazon, on the Kindle, and on the Nook!

4.  Trek’s cool stuff!! So Trek pretty much has his own merchandise line now-hehe. 1. I just read your most recent blog post, through a friend who posted on facebook. I just want to say I am praying for you and your family, as I know Trek is in a better place, but it must be so hard to accept that he is no longer with you in this physical realm of existence. Your blog made me cry. I was eating, checking out facebook, and then clicked on the link to your blog- I began reading your post today and immediately started to cry. I have a two year old daughter and I cannot even imagine what you and your family must be going through. I feel as though it would be the hardest loss in the world to lose a child. I want to share a special prayer with you- it is a Baha’i prayer (I am a member of the Baha’i Faith). It is my favorite prayer- one that helps me get through some of the most difficult times in my life. I hope you like it- and I hope it helps to keep you and your family strong and positive throughout the remainder of your lives! Trek was a lovely little boy and he was so lucky to have a family who loved and cared for him so much.

    With warmest greetings,

    Ariel.

“O God! Refresh and gladden my spirit. Purify my heart. Illumine my powers. I lay all my affairs in Thy hand. Thou art my Guide and my Refuge. I will no longer be sorrowful and grieved; I will be a happy and joyful being. O God! I will no longer be full of anxiety, nor will I let trouble harass me. I will not dwell on the unpleasant things of life.

O God! Thou art more friend to me than I am to myself. I dedicate myself to Thee, O Lord”.

    ~‘Abdu’l-Bahá

    • Hi Ariel, I just copied your prayer because I thought it was beautiful. Sometimes we need a bit of help when it comes to the words we want to say to God- thank you.

      • I am so happy to see that this prayer has touched your heart and soul. I hope it helps you find comfort and strength in difficult times, as it does for me.

        Much love,
        Ariel

I’m not sure if I am doing this right, but I just paid $53 via Paypal (Stephen P, my husband’s name). The items I would like are a beach ball, 7 bracelets (to be worn on our family trip across Canada in August and September, in honour of Trek!), a book and the tattoos. With a huge hug and many prayers from Canada to your whole family, extended family and friends.

I just want to say that you and your husband were hand picked by God to take care of an angel. He picked you because of your kind, gentle and free spirit. It takes a special kind of family, one that God is very proud of, to deal with such journey. Your message and your journey with Trek is meant to touch other people like myself. You are special, you are loved and protected. From now on, when you look at the sky at night, you’ll know that the brightest star guiding your way is Trek, and the light is his smile.

    You are blessed,

Chelsea & Jarrett, I heard of baby Trek’s situation a couple of months ago, and have prayed constantly for your family since. Today I learned of his passing from a former coworker at Bubba’s-Maui, and cannot stop hurting for you. Please know that my prayers continue for your strength, and that in my very strong faith I know you will be with your sweet angel again–he was on loan to you for a brief period, but watches over you now. Reach out to Christ, He will get you through this. ~~M. d’Paxxe
