6 weeks ago-we ripped it out, it was not working and was going to be a pain to repair
When we first moved into the RV almost 2 months ago this was our fridge. Yes, the ice chest. We were trying to decide what size fridge to get. Either a big one the same size as the last one (apartment size), or a small one, so I could make a shelf for food storage and a microwave.
The small one won. I really wanted a place for chips and cereal, I was having a hard time finding a place for those, and this would make it happen. Bonus from having a small fridge-we have not wasted any food. Seriously, not one egg or leftover in 4 weeks. We tend to buy too much and let it go bad, it just can’t happen in 4 cubic feet-ha!
Now all I needed was Jarrett to have time to build shelves and add new walls to cover up the wires. And while we were on our sister road trip this weekend, Jarrett and my brother-in-law Chet finished it for me-I heart you guys so much!
new walls and a new shelf!

and the house…well, renovating in a normal size house can get messy, in an RV, forget about it, it’s freakin tornado alley
All it needed now was paint. I went to Wal-mart and bought a can. I don’t know what I was thinking. Up until this point I have bought a nice grade of paint, so it would last. I bought the cheapest can. So not cool. It went on like Elmers glue, it was pasty and almost see through. I don’t see how they can get away with selling that stuff.
But I was dying to get our fridge back in, and I did not want to buy another can of paint-that is 2 caramel macchiattos and I choose coffee every time.
I like the actual color, I just have to figure out how to finish out the edges. They are rough and uneven and I need to go back and paint the back wall. Or I might add patterned paper to the back, that would be fun.I am thinking of painting a solid border around and then adding flowers or a fun border on top, something like above, but who knows. I might just buy trim, or paint a rainbow, depends on how crazy I feel.
I am loving it so far though. We are one step closer to making this completely ours and being completely done!
And for my pain and suffering (the messy house:), Jarrett-my hero-got me a pedicure and this new broom. I am in love with this broom. It’s from the kid’s section at Target. I needed a short one since I don’t have room for a tall one, so it’s perfect and makes me so very happy:)
