“Did you paint this today?”-Jarrett
“Yes, I did, I know its kind of cheesy”-me
“I like it. I don’t think its cheesy, but maybe I’m just a cheesy guy”-Jarrett
And so, Jarrett (my hero), sets the tone for this post.
the entry step to our home
Not exactly the first thing I want to see when I open the door. I talked about this entry step here, some of you suggested using it for shoes (which we do) and to paint it (so I did). Now to preface this post. I am not a painter, I am not very good at crafting, I do it all the time because I like it, but I am not very good at it. I am not being humble, it’s like my singing voice-awful. But anything was better than the brown, and as Jarrett pointed out, we are cheesy so it’s totally going to work for us for now.
I taped some paper down to protect the wood flooring and spray painted it white
I ran out of spray paint, so I finished it with some white acrylic paint I had
let the fun begin!!!!
I love the helpers always quick to pitch in-here’s hoping they got some creative genes from their Aunt Amanda’s
Someone suggested painting Embrace Life here, but I have an Embrace Life sign nailed right about this step, so I went with something happy and welcoming
when possible, use hearts for letters:)
I was having fun, can you tell?! It was like a tattoo-never coming off and something your mama would not approve of-painting the walls.
I painted the sides in teal chunks…
then rubbed over it with a paper towel to make it look distressed
happy (and a little cheesy) sign coming into being
to make it not so harsh, I rubbed over it with a paper towel dipped in white paint with a little gray mixed in
welcome to our home
