The field behind our house here in Thailand is full of fireflies every night. Fireflies are so fascinating! I have the best memories from when I was little catching fireflies in jars with my brother and sister. Every night as we walk into town for dinner, we pass the fireflies, try to catch a few, and talk about Trek. We talk about Trek a lot. We talk about him for many obvious reasons, like how stinkin adorable he is and how much we miss him, but we also talk about him because so many situations we find ourselves in, are ones that we have been in before with him. This has been an amazing gift for our family that we could never put a price tag on. We were able to experience so many amazing things with Trek that we have a huge pool of memories to pull from for the rest of our lives.
Fireflies are one of them. One night while we were in Texas visiting family, we decided to sneak out after dark for a ride in the farm golf cart. I really wanted to drive and since Trek was being a cuddle bug, that meant he got to drive too. I remember that night very clearly, more than some other days. Nothing extraordinary happened, I just remember being really happy. And aware that it was special that all 3 of my babies were getting to see fireflies for the first time together.
Trek helping me drive with a little smile on his face:)
Peyton and Conner standing up in the back and screaming the whole way, I am sure we woke up the cows
Trek snuggled in my neck and ended up falling asleep, he loved to be on bumpy rides
After driving around the field like a crazy woman, making every one scream, I stopped as we came across a bunch of fireflies. The boys were amazed.

showing it to Conner who did not like the pokey grass on his bare feet
I love that we had this firefly night together with Trek.
