Kickstarter:
Our Kickstarter project to have 200 paperback copies of Following After Trek printed is going amazing! We met our goal in less than 30 hours and we are already to over $4000. We can now print 300 books! We still have 9 days left so any more that we get over our goal we will have even more of Trek’s books printed! (if you missed it here is what it is all about)
Sometime this week (I will update when I know the date) we will be on MomsEveryday news program on KWTX (CBS) in Waco, Texas. If you live around there you can see us on TV-our first time!
Postcards:
We have received over 35 postcards from all over the world since we started our postcard exchange. 18 of those postcards were from a 4th grade class in California, they were so precious telling us how they were sad about Trek and asking us about mopeds and waterfalls. They also told us about all of the fun things to do in California for whenever we visit there. We were very touched. We went out and picked out a postcard for each one of them and wrote them each a special message back, I am excited for them to get them.
We will be at this address for the next 2 weeks if you have a postcard that you still want to send.

It takes 7-10 days for them to get here from America. If you still want to send one but that is too short of a time you can send it to our new address in Southern Thailand. We should have one in about 4 weeks. We love getting postcards (do you hear a hint-hehe) and we love sending them.
I have received some postcards with no return addresses. Can you please send me your address in the comments or by message if you want one in return? Rose Lamb, Nancy from Arizona (sent 3 postcards), and Soozcat. Thanks!!!
Jarrett’s website:
We have been working on Jarrett’s website and I am loving it! I think it looks so nice and it is a great place for him to share with the world about all of the books he writes.
He wrote a funny post today about our crazy day the other day. There was only 4 of us on one moped-what could possibly go wrong?
Also, if you go visit his site and you feel like it can you “like” his facebook page? You can do it right from the homepage as you read his new post!
Thank you all so much again for all of the support for Kickstarter and just in general for all of the love and kindness you have shown our family in this whole time with Trek. We miss him so much, not one second goes by that we don’t think of him and mourn for him. Tears are always a moment away for Jarrett and I and having so much love from our friends and family helps with our healing. We love you all so much.
Here are the photos from when we mailed our all of our postcards for the exchange
this is a local Thai woman from a hill tribe, they all wear these beautiful dresses. We fell in love with her baby boy. He reminded us of my nephew Jackson. He would not let her sit down, he wanted her to walk him around on her back the whole time, he would scream at her when she tried-hehe.
the line was very long inside so Jarrett and I took turns playing with the boys outside
the postman
waiting. there is a water dispenser you can get water from, you get to share that tin cup with everyone
more playing
Peyton got some serious air
from Thailand to your mailbox very soon!
how fun!! I am loving the postcard idea still, it is so special and neat…how sweet of that entire class to send you postcards!! I know you will make each of those sweet kids days by sending them back to them each personally. I am cracking up about the baby that reminded you of Jackson! The screaming part and him not letting the mom stop walking sounds perfect hehe. Oh I love that boy but he is totally my boss:) I wish you could hear/see him right this second hehe. Love you all so much and man do i miss you!!! Tell Peyton and Conner they are sooo cool and jumped sooo high!! I am one lucky Auntie! Have a good day! I am so happy to follow the progress of your Kickstarter project, woohoo! I loved Jarrett’s post, i was laughing so hard!
this little boy was his mama’s boss too, and she was so patient like you are with Jackson and just smiled and loved on him just as it should be:) xoxo
aww what a sweet mama. It is always so refreshing to me to meet mamas like that..LIKE YOU..to remind me how I need to be with my boys, I fall short often and do not nearly have the patience I need to. I learn every day for sure;) I have always seen you as the perfect example of patience and love…you really are the best mama, I miss being in your company, it was always so relaxing, fun, and care free!
i miss your company too, it is carefree but with you as a busy bee making sure we all have yummy food and sweet tea, can you move in with me?
Jarrett’s most recent blog = funniest story EVER! I am still laughing.
haha, thanks-i am still laughing too:)
I check Kickstarter several times each day and am so proud of the success! I love Jarrett’s new site and of course his latest blog! Hmmm…..sharing a tin cup at the Post Office ~ not too sure about that. The boys are so energetic and athletic ~ love seeing them free and happy. Lots of love to all of you!
Jalene, what is even more disturbing than sharing the tin cup is that they have the water cooler covered up (what’s in there anyway?)!
we will never know (unless i peek behind the cloth)
thank you so much Aunt Jalene, we are having so much fun with kickstarter too we feel so loved! I know, I always laugh at that tin cup, no thanks.

Thank you for the sweet comments about my class…when I told the kids that you received them, they were so excited! They are so interested in your story and ask me everyday when are we going to check out Trek’s blog. They look forward to hearing about your adventures and they still pray daily for Trek and his family. Much love, Jannette P.S. We have a holiday today, so I am sure when I read them today’s blog, they will also want to respond:)
can’t wait to hear about when they get them!!! xoxo
I JUST bought a postcard to send you guys today! I had no idea postcards were so difficult to find–I almost bought one online because none of the stores around me have them (I wanted it to at least have some significance for where we live, but that was really hard to find!), but thankfully, I found one for you today! So excited–putting it in the mail to you tomorrow!
I was wondering how long your address was good for, so I’m glad I’ll get it out in time. Definitely thinking of you today, and talked to my daughter about your family, your adventures, and Trek when we got the postcard for you!
How funny about finding a postcard-haha, maybe they are about done for. we look forward to getting yours, we will be here for 2 more weeks so we should get it! thanks for sharing our story and for all of your comments-xoxo
Glad you gIot the postcard from Boston. I have several more from that trip and will mail them all together to your new address when you get it. How fun to get some from a whole class of students. What a great way to study the country as well.
Safe travels to your new locaiton.
