We have been busy dreaming and planning these last couple of weeks. It has been exciting, yet sometimes hard since I am very comfortable right now and even though I am ready to move on to a new place, I am not ready for the actual moving part, saying goodbye and packing up is always hard.
One day over lunch we were discussing our options when Jarrett’s Thai cell phone rang. It was probably only the second time it has rang ever, since we use it just to call our family, so it was a shock. A Thailand university that Jarrett had applied to weeks before called to offer him a job teaching English in a beach town in the south of Thailand. We practically skipped out of the restaurant, that was just what we were hoping for-it was perfect.
So we leave Pai in 3 weeks to make the 3 day journey down to Suran Thani, Thailand. We are excited to be by the ocean again and to leave Pai right when it starts to get cold here. We have avoided buying pants yet again!
That was the perfect deadline for Following After Trek, it is on its final edit and we have the cover of the book up on Jarrett’s website. It is beautiful-the cover and the book.
I have been thinking, thinking, thinking of a million ways to get his book printed in paperback. It was surprisingly very expensive. We know so many of our friends and family and the world do not have Kindles so we have to find a way. I know so many people want to read his book and we want all of you too also!
I think I have found a way.
I have a plan and it is almost done and then I can share it with the world. I am so excited to see this book come to the end. I am glad to have it out of my hands and into yours. It has been a very emotional book to go through with Jarrett. I am so glad we have captured all of Trek while he is still so fresh and real in our minds.
The other day in dire need of some time away from thinking about the book and the future we hit up two caves. It was so beautiful and fun and the perfect break!
the beautiful temple right outside the cave. I still can’t believe we live here!
Wow! That’s great for you. Sure solved the problem of where to go. I’ll put a note on the “Where are you going next?” on your Meet the Travel Bloggers interview. Shoot me an email with the update. Safe travels and may you find your perfect beach house!
thank you so much Billie-that is so thoughtful. and yes it was so nice when we got the call, we were like-ok-done!
How exciting! You are getting closer and closer to me you know. We will be in Phuket/Langkawi until Feb. I feel a meet up for that real life hug soon!
I thought you guys were in Malaysia! you will be close to us! we will have to meet up and I will take you up on the hug:) xoxo
Heeey congrats!! Don’t forget about “CreateSpace”. It’s an amazing option for books to get into paperback. It’s a POD service meaning, you do not pay for books to be printed. Whenever someone orders it on Amazon, it automatically creates the order and ships. You don’t have to do anything and you don’t have to store any books. And you can order books from CreateSpace to sell on your own site at a huge discount. It’s totally the way to go! Let me know if you have any questions and I’d love to help you! Happy for you guys!!
We are starting a KickStarter project for the paperback books, but I am totally going to check out that website-what a great idea and service. thanks for the information sweet friend-love you. Chelsea
If you ever get a chance to visit Trang, it’s my husband’s hometown (in southern Thailand) and it is lovely! “Muu yang trang” is their signature dish and its the most delicious breakfast imaginable.
If you’re passing though Bangkok on the way down, the offer still stands to show you all around the big city.
oh we would love that!!! maybe we will stop by bangkok on the way-I will let you know. I want to take the boys to see the palace they are obsessed with anything about the King! that breakfast dish is making me hungry-we will have to find it and order it:) thanks for all the info-xoxo, Chelsea
Yea! So proud of Jarrett and his accomplishments with the book and job. I know you will all be excited to be by the beach again. Although I’m purchasing a Kindle just to read the book, I will still get the paperback version. I’m glad it’s all coming to a close for you….whew! I love the cave, especially the staircase up to it! And the adventure continues…..love y’all!

I am so happy to hear about Jarrett’s book, how exciting! Love all your pictures, Chelsea. THe boys look darling with their saggy hair does, they are handsome little guys. I miss you, especially now that the rainy session has set in. I sit on the lanai and think of you often. I wish we could have one more “lanai talk” and I could just hug you one more time. Milo is getting so big. He told me yesterday he did not like babies and when I was tring to re-direct him from doing something naughty yesterday, he held up his hand and pretended to shoot me, even with a big sound effect. I laughed and I cried….Time is so precious. I love you friend, and find much comfort and joy in your writings, you are very talented. I stayed up last night and caught up on all your post. I cried, your journey is beautiful, your love is so contagious, you’re an amazing woman. I am so happy you have all this time with your honey, l long for that too. I know the sun will always shine on all of you. I just wanted to let you know we think of you daily, and I send my love. I sit on my porch swing and enjoy the handmade cusion you made…although it has many blueberry stains on it now….hehe Sending my love and aloha. I love and miss you, CHelsea. I am so glad we met that day on the beach. You have touched and inspired my life. BIg hug!
OH Tina-you made me cry like I do with all of your messages to me. I am so glad we met that day too, your comment came just a couple hours after a postcard I wrote and sent to you with a similar message. I miss you too and I am so thankful for you. I smiled at your Milo, I LOVE it-Jarrett and I laughed at his antics. Thank you for all of your sweet words about me, I feel the same about you. I know we will hug again and have many more lanai talks. love you sweet friend and miss you. love ,chelsea
