I just have to take a minute to say how wonderful Jarrett is. I just woke up from a 15 hour nap. Yes, my sleep schedule has been absolutely atrocious lately. I cannot sleep all night, get up wide awake and happy and then around noon I can barely function. It is very aggravating. Jarrett has been so understanding and patient and has been ushering me to bed and tucking me in any time I look sleepy.
Well it all paid off and I finally got back on schedule. I went to bed at 1 pm yesterday right before we were about to head out to lunch. I asked Jarrett to wake me up in 1 hour. I woke up on my own at 4am an entire day later. I quickly counted-yes a 15 hour nap. I noticed I was all alone in bed and went to the other bed to see Jarrett snuggled with Peyton and Conner-awwww.
I went downstairs and the house was spotless. (what?! Ok-nevermind-I married superman not superwoman). The house was a wreck, but my love only grew not waned because there was evidence of lots of fun and guy stuff that was had while I was sleeping. Empty soda cans, colors, and toys. The dishes were done though-that was truly above and beyond!
So thank you Jarrett, I love you so much and I would not want to spend every day of my life with anyone else.
When I was a kid, my mother would always rouse me from sleep whenever she thought I “shouldn’t” be sleeping. If I slept in too late, or if I napped, she was there grabbing and shaking me and telling me to wake up.
Now, my husband lets me sleep whenever and for however long I just “sleep”. I sometimes feel guilty if I wake up at 1PM on a Saturday after going to sleep at 11 the night before. When I ask him why he lets me sleep so late he just shrugs and says, “Clearly you needed it.”
Clearly you needed it. Here’s to Superman husbands.
So Sweet and True. I love you both gma
Such a wonderful sweet man!
thank you so much Jill-xoxo
Aww…..what a sweet post, but I know your Superman and I agree that he is a wonderful husband/best friend and father. Glad you were able to take a “nap”! Lots of love!
thanks aunt jalene-it means a lot that you know him and agree with me:) xoxo
I find it so refreshing when men are respected and not spoken of as idiots by self righteous women, as it happens so much in our society right now. Granted though
everyone is an idiot at times. Chelsea you are a devoted and respectful wife; an example to be emulated by all wives. Jarrett is blessed by you as much as you are he.
thank you so much Maria!!! wow that was so sweet and thoughtful. Jarrett and I have been having such a special time these last few months, it has been the hardest and the best times of our lives, we have had to hold onto each other for dear life! thanks for always having such kind things to say
I did a double take at the spotless house
You are lucky, no doubt, but you are also a blessing because you recognize how lucky you are and don’t hone in on the negative.
haha! I know Robin, a girl can dream:) thank you for your compliment-after losing Trek so many other things are in a totally different perspective. xoxo
So sweet! Thanks Jarrett for taking such good care of my sweet girl:) I’m so glad you got caught up on some much needed sleep. Love & miss all of you!
I will let him know mama-he is the best-i will keep him around;) love you
He really is super cool and special. I have never doubted him once and how he loves you and your boys. I love how you both make the perfect team and fit so perfectly together in every part of your lives.Awesome nap!!! so sweet of him to let you rest and be the best daddy. So sweet how you appreciate it in every way and not sweat the little things that don’t matter…like the mess. Love you all and miss seeing you.
thanks so much for all of your sweet words amanda-you always make my heart smile. i love you sister. xoxo
So glad you got some much needed sleep! I was nearly going “What he cleaned up as well” and then kept on reading……perfect! My hubby is the same – he takes care of our boys when needed but never ever thinks that anything needs doing as well as looking after them/having fun!
At least the dishes were done – I would wake up to a sink full
Glad that you are able to catch up on sleep. Take care xx
bahahaha! I love it Lisa-that is so funny-I will let Jarrett know he is true saint for washing the dishes! I am glad you have a sweet guy that helps with your boys so much too-xoxo
I am so glad you were finally able to sleep. To me it indicates you are healing a tiny bit. The days are exciting but the nights are for memories.Jarrett truly is a superman. He has been so wonderful and strong and He is going thru the same pain you are. I know about not sleeping for several nights. One time the phone woke me at 6 O’clock, PM not AM. I like those long naps too.I love all of you guys and am thankful for every happy moment you have.
oh MawMaw-I love you so much! thank you so much for your sweet words-I agree that Jarrett is one of a kind, it is nice when others notice it too. I think of you a lot when I cannot sleep-we are so much alike in our ailments-hehe! much love ,Chelsea
What a guy!!!!!! Xoxox
I agree Shannon:)
Awesome long and much needed nap! Well done, Jarrett! You two go together like peas and carrots!
The best part what this kind of thing teaches your boys. They will grow up thinking kindnesses are as much a part of daily life as eating a meal!
wow Cathy, that was so nice to read and meant a lot to me. Thank you.
You make me realize that I need to be more appreciative of my wonderful husband of 42 years, Chelsea. God bless you for your message of love. Gail (Maria’s m-i-law)
wow, Gail, 42 years! congratulations! thank you for your kind comment-xoxo ,Chelsea
