I am not trying to be funny-this is the name of a restaurant in Chiang Rai where we stayed this past week. Haha! We passed it and I told Jarrett-TURN AROUND!!! did you see that place? we have to go check it out!

Bahahaha! I still cannot get over this place. It was very confusing eating there, it was one of the nicest restaurant we have been to yet, the bathrooms had toilet paper AND soap. But I don’t think it was a joke, obviously it was supposed to be a little funny, but the menu said it was paid for by the Population and Community Development of Thailand. I came home and researched it and it is an organization is recognized worldwide for its innovative plans to help the people of Thailand with things like family planning and jobs. What a fun and funny idea. (and you got a free condom with your meal!)
Some Americans still think sex and condoms are still taboo subjects to talk about! Just check the news for NYC schools handing out condoms and the morning-after pill. Sex is how life is created and continues – what’s the shame?

haha, you are right Jill, we always talk about that too-the boys watched birth videos so they would know what to expect when Trek was being born (we planned on them being in the room, who knew it would be the driveway!) They did not think one thing about it, they were like-oh cool, we can’t wait to be there!
Too funny! Population control for sure! Someone was very talented with the manican outfits. I can’t believe the boys’ hair is so long. Lots of love!
haha, yes I was so impressed by the skill of the condom outfits too:) the boys hair is getting so long! It is hot for them, but they don’t want to cut it-I think they look cute with it long or short, but it would be convenient to get a hair cut here-it is only 80 cents!
I think it’s tongue-in-cheek. They have their mission -for sure, but I think they also just want to shock people a little bit, too.

it was too much! Jarrett was like what could this possibly be and was hesitant-he was thinking strip club and we would scar the boys-hehe.
Oh. My. Gosh! That is hilarious! I mean, who doesn’t want to say they stayed at the “Cabbages and Condoms” hotel, right?! Except now I can’t get that stupid “Alice in Wonderland” song out of my head. Condom couture?!

it was so funny, but the food was just ok, thankfully it was cheap and they had amazing service so it was all worth it

The condom dress is amazing ~ not sure that my 16 year old would happily sit at the table and eat the food…that would be too much for him (being with your parents and condoms is so not cool!!) but I reckon that our younger kids would have thought it funny as.
did the menu come up with names to tie in with the theme?

haha, you are right Lisa-so not cool with a 16 year old! no funny names on the menu, that is why it was so odd, everyone was just so cool in there like they always work with condom maniquins-ha!
