I feel like no words are needed for this picture. How many people see this and their heart beats a little faster and their mouth starts to water? Mine is, but I can’t do a dang thing about it since the closest Starbucks is 134 km away in Chiang Mai. So I just stare and fondly remember how my Iced Caramel Macchiato with extra caramel tasted and the smile it brought me.
Conner and I scootered over bright and early to get a coffee last week when we were in Chiang Mai
coffee stealer!
ahhhh, heaven in a cup
the caffeine was getting to us
the best way to start the morning
now across the street for Conner’s vice-McDonalds hashbrowns (he ordered 10, but I asked him if we could start out with 3)
on the walk in front of Micky D’s Conner found this gold zipper handle-he was convinced it was solid gold since when he bit it it did not break
After our bellies were full of our favorite treats I decided to do something daring and oh so indulgent.
I must admit something, even though I love to be outdoors, get dirty, never buy myself new clothes or do my hair, I am truly a diva a heart. When Jarrett’s books start bringing in the big bucks there is something very divaish on the top of my list. A personal hair stylist. I want someone to come over every morning and do my hair for me. I just read the other day that Princess Kate does not have a personal sylist-what?! Am I more snotty than a princess that I want one?! Oh well I do and I got a taste of how wonderful it would be on this Starbucks morning.
in the hair place was this wall of plumerias, Conner picked out which one was for each of my amazing sons on my tattoo
A nice Thai lady shampooed my hair, massaged my head and then meticulously straightened each strand of my hair for exactly $5. It was just as dreamy as I imagined it would be.
Love this post…it is nice to see you indulge in your simple pleasures…and all us princesses deserve to be spoiled occassionally:)
hehe, I know its fun to be a princess but sometimes its nice to really act like one:) still thinking about you and sending you love-xoxo
The hair looks awesome! We moms really need some time to be pampered. We deserve it!!!
thank you so much LIza!!! i felt so pampered-it was totally needed! xoxo
Reading your post always adds a smile to day ! Thank You

OH wow how gorgeous your new hair looks ~ and for $5.00…thats nuts
How cute was Conner with his hash browns….did he manage more then 3 of them?
And yeah I miss not having good coffee when we are not near the shops to buy it!
Thank you so much Lisa, it felt amazing and so soft all day-I kept thinking I could get used to this! Conner actually only ate 2 of them! hehe, so glad i did not order 10
YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!!! love these pictures! You deserved every minute of that hair treatment, evey minute of that starbucks and Conner every one of those hashbrowns hehe:) What a fun date! you always know how to make each day super fun for your family.love and miss you!
oh conner and his hashbrowns. thanks for always being so sweet-it was an amazing morning, just wish you were there-it would have been even more fun!!! love you
wish i was there too!! would have been super fun with cake pops and coffee and all! well not sure they have cake pops there?:) i hope you got one if they did!
no cake pops:( eat one for me:)
Hi Chelsea! I totally feel you with the Starbucks! I’m not sure if there is one Starbucks in all of Serbia! Definitely a real treat when we are traveling, and I guess its nice that having it so rarely makes it even more special. By the way, that zipper that you found is from a Louis Vitton purse, so you might be able to sell it on eBay, or it would make a cute necklace charm. Take care!
Serbia-I am going to have to research this place-do you like it there besides there is no Starbucks?:) I thought it was from LV but I think it is a knock off, I will see if Conner still has it hanging around and check it out, if it is a real LV I saw zipper pulls for 30 bucks on ebay! geez! thanks for noticing and the good idea to sell it:) xoxo
Starbucks and a $5 hair-do all in one day? That’s my kind of dream morning too!! You look radiant! I hope today brings you even more indulgent adventures
i felt radiant-thank you! (plus Conner is a great photographer:) it was a super dreamy morning-i hope for more in my future too-xoxo
Good for you Mama! My folks are living in the Philappines right now, and my Mom gets a massage weekly. She loves it and it only costs $8 (including tip!). She doesn’t know what she’s going to do when she comes home next year
You look beautiful (as always). xoxo
I know-the massages here are 5 bucks!!! holy cow, I need to get one more often. We are thinking about going to the Phillippines next-I will have to email you to ask your mom some questions:) thanks for your sweet compliment-xoxo
Everyone needs a little pampering now and then! Glad you enjoyed it!
it was heavenly and totally needed:) thanks liz-xoxo
What?? People pay good money to have their hair look like what yours does naturally!! Its called “beachy waves”, and you got it sexy mama!
wow, that is one way to look at it-hehe-I love it! I will tell Jarrett when I wake up-look at my beachy waves:) thanks for that sweet comment-xoxo
I totally agree with the personal stylist. Mine would have to live with me though since we live in the boondocks. I could live with the $5 cost too!!
lets all get one!
where do you live? we love visiting the boondocks! xoxo
Glad you got to indulge!! You are very deserving of it!! With all the boys around, sometimes it’s nice to be girly!!
I agree-there is a lot of testosterone around here;) it was super fun to indulge! xoxo
I miss those $5 or less trips to the salon. I was really sad when I paid $60 for a haircut and color here and they didn’t even staighten my hair.
You and Conner are the cutest mom and son tandem!
I know! I hate it when I would pay for a hair cut and then they would not fix it after-that is no fun:( thank you about Conner and me-we have a lot of fun together:)
You look great! And btw Kate does have a stylest! I just read about their trip to Malaysia and one of their “traveling employees” is her hair stylest.
ooh how fun! I read it on people.com that at home she does her own hair, she always looks amazing! thanks for my compliment-i hope you and your little guys are doing wonderful
Such a fun post to read Chelsea! Seriously could you be more beautiful?? I have never thought about a daily hairdresser until now. I would do it too now that I think about it!! Over a housekeeper even! Thanks for the smile this post brought to me today! xo
thank you so much Maria you are so sweet-that made my day! that would be a hard choice-housekeeper or hairdresser? sometimes when my hair is fixed nice i am way more energized to clean and cook b/c I feel so good, maybe you are right! hairdresser it is:)
NICE! I’m glad you got to treat yourselves! My princess wish would be a personal chef…but seeing your hair, maybe I’d take a stylist
it was so amazing and Adrienne I think we should have both!!!
I feel the same way as you about Starbucks. My biggest vice for sure! And yes, I also dream about winning the lottery and how I would get my curly hair blown straight every day! I love your blog, I look forward to reading it every day. (Ifound you through Yita.
oh Yita-she is so sweet! I agree Starbucks is so addictive-what do they put in the coffee?! its so delish! i guess its true that if you have curly hair you want it straight and if you have straight hair you want some curl-will a girl ever be happy?! hehe
Love having my hair done too! It’s such a “Diva-ish”, pampered feeling. Good for you! Wish mine only cost $5…
it was amazing! and yes 5 bucks-i just HAD to do it for that price!
what a fun day!! and yumo!! i drink the same but not iced and with whip cream! and u are one gorgeous momma!! whoop!!!
i have never had it hot, maybe I will try it that way if we are ever somewhere cold:) thank you for your kind compliment-xoxo
What a wonderful date with such a handsome young man! Glad you decided to indulge & treat yourself like the princess you are….well, you’re really a queen, but close enough
Love the “caffeine” pics and glad Conner struck it rich with the gold! Keep enjoying the good times! Love & hugs to all!
Conner was trying to buy toys with his gold, it was too funny! and yes it was a wonderful day fit for a queen:) love you
You and you family are just adorable! I’m a new-ish reader and am enjoying your travels! I just realized that you are in the same area as another blog I read! http://www.journeymama.com/blog/2012/9/14/catching-up.html.
thank you so much Teri! and yes I have had others introduce me online to Rachel also! I saw her mopeding around town the other day:) xoxo
Wow, little Conner is a great photographer!!
thank you so much Jules-I think he is too-he has a good eye and loves doing it:)
I used to get my hair washed and blown out every Saturday for years (before I had kids). You can find places that will do it for as cheap as 2 or 3 bucks if you’re lucky (and speak Thai, haha). I would always go as long as I could without washing it to get the most out of my ‘do!
how fun! i saw a thai place the other day, and thought i might try them out next and see if it is cheaper-thanks for the tip! and i know, i did not wash mine for 2 days:)
