thank you all soo much for the amazing responses we got for the postcard exchange! my boys are going to freak out when they start rolling in. I already have dreams of heading into town picking out a postcard that fits each person perfectly-this is going to be so much fun! I have had a few questions about the postage, so if anyone has mailed one yet and talked to the post office can you share what stamp you put on the card? thank you!
I came across some pictures of our time in Texas at granny’s cabin. It was from a day we spent with Granddaddy in the hay field. Jarrett and I talk a lot about Granddaddy, we obviously think a lot of him since we named Trek after him. Granddaddy’s middle name is Atlas, so is our sweet Trek’s. Granddaddy does something that Jarrett and I think is very special, it is even more special to me since he has been doing it since I was a little girl. Granddaddy comes up with fun and exciting things to do and then makes them happen. It sounds so simple, but it is actually so relaxing to be around someone that comes up with a plan and then puts it into action and you just get to go along for the fun ride.
I have so many memories from when I was a little girl of being awakened in the wee hours of the morning to Granddaddy knocking on our house door to take me and my brother and sister to get donuts. He has taken my boys on a donut trip each time they have visited him. I have amazing memories of spending time at his farm roaming wild and free, my boys now have the same memories and its a special thing that I am glad we share.
When we were visiting Granddaddy and Granny when Trek had just turned 1 year old, Granddaddy took the boys out to the hayfield where he runs a rockin hay business. The boys got to bale some hay and run wild and free, plus Trek got to drive a tractor. I know they will treasure these times with their grandpa forever.

A few days later…donuts!
so many choices, but don’t worry-Granddaddy will let you get as many as you want!
that’s exactly how I feel about donuts Peyton!
so thankful Trek got to go on a donut date with Granddaddy

So sweet Trek was with your grandaddy. That sort of thing is forever.
it really is, we are so thankful for all the memories we made while our sweet boy was alive.
Aww….he is a pretty good fella! I love my Daddy and he does seem to make memorable things happen! I’m glad the boys got to spend time with him in the hay field and learn a few things, but more importantly got one of many donut dates! Daddy loves them donuts!
Precious memories!
hehe, yes the donuts-it is convenient we all love them too:) miss you and think about you and jared all the time
Wonderfully special! It looks so fun to be there too!
it is a ton of fun to be there, the boys ask to go back all the time:)
Such wonderful memories that have been shared generation to generation!
it really is, they mean a lot to us
I remember when yall were little and daddy would have yall come to the house and his excuse was “They want some Bluebell”. We all knew who really wanted the Bluebell. He thought that it was a good excuse. He still tries to use that excuse today. He does the same with the donuts. He says that the only reason he goes is because the grandkids want them.
bahaha! oh uncle johnny you know that’s not true, granddaddy only does it b/c of his immense love for the children, he hates bluebell and donuts:)
Awesome memories!!!!
thanks Patti-they really are, we have so much fun there
From Boston the postal lady just put a 1.05 stamp on it and away it went. She said there is no International Postcard stamp like in the states
