We headed into the Laos countryside yesterday to find Blue Lagoon. It is not blue right now since it is monsoon season, all the rain makes the water a little murky, but that did not stop the fun of swinging and jumping into the river!
the slippery walk up the tree
Peyton of course ran straight up and jumped over and over for hours
I about had a heart attack watching Jarrett jump from the tallest part of the tree!
I about had a heart attack jumping from the short ledge
poor Conner and the results of a belly flop
eating our lunch, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, by the river
two monks at the lagoon asked to take a picture with Peyton, I in turn asked if I could take a picture of them
we were in love with these two little Lao babies!
one last dip before we headed for home
his little face says it all-it was a good day
Poor Conner, his tummy looks painful! Looks like loads of fun! Enjoy!
i know Danielle, he still talks about it! it was so sad, he lept off like a flying squirrel!
oh that looks like so much fun – mind you I wouldnt be jumping in from any of those tree branches! Big chicken that I am
Is the water deep?
haha, it was pretty scary and yes the water was very deep, I could not feel it
Such a wonderful way to spend a day!
it was, thank you jill!
So much fun! I love seeing you all have a great time:) Love you!
thanks mama
Way to go Jarrett on the ballsy Jump!
i agree, it was terrifying!
And so you continue to embrace life one day at a time!!! What an inspiration you continue to be… LOVE reading about your ongoing journey!!
thanks gioia
Awwww, I think those smiles just melted so many hearts! Chelsea, I’m just like you, gotta hold the nose when jumping into water, that made me laugh. Glad you all had a fab time!
Ps. Love the new blog picture, forehead wrinkles – too cute!
thank you:) he reminds me of a little bird in that picture for some reason
totally always have to hold my nose, even when i swim:)
A little bird-love it, I agree!
Love it!! And I love that you held your nose:)
My oldest son jumped from that high branch…I was so proud of him, I wouldn’t even stand up there:)
i am so proud of him too! i could barely watch jarrett do it! a man fell from up there and hit his head when we were there-it was so scary!
You crack me up everytime! You and your jump, Im so proud hehe! Go J Rock, that looked soo scary!! Poor Conner:( Your boys are so brave and fun just like you and Jarrett! love it, love you
don’t hate on my little jump! ha-it was so scary and i barely did it! love you sister
Oh i laugh but I would not have done it! hehe so so proud of all you are doing! no joke, you are so brave, all of you and not many people could do all the cool things you are doing as a family! I am one proud sister and Auntie!
thanks amanda, i am proud of you too:)
How fun! It looks like you had a blast! Belly flops can be a bummer for sure but it looks like that still didnt spoil the day! I am afraid of heights so I am sure I probably wouldnt have even jumped off either of the levels LOL so yay for being adventurous!
I saw a quote today that made me think of your family and Trek
“Maybe God picks the flowers for heaven when they are at their most beautiful bloom…”
yes it was fun and a little scary! and thank you so much for that beautiful quote, love, Chelsea
Oh such wonderful fun! And of course, Conner is loving on those babies. That picture is so him!
he sniffs out all of the cute babies in town-we both do, we even got to hold one the other day!
Very cool place & I love that your days are such that you have no schedule & could stay there as long as you wanted! I wasn’t a bit surprised that Peyton went straight for the tree & jumped. I guess the monks thought he was a hero also! I have to say that I’m a little disappointed in you, though! You rode a motorbike, but was skeered to jump off a little bitty tree? Shame, shame….you’re gonna have to find your big girl panties somewhere in that luggage!
Poor Conner’s tummy, but it didn’t appear to spoil his day too bad with that wonderful smile at the end! So sweet that he loved on the Lao babies, but I wouldn’t expect anything less from his tender soul. I do believe I would’ve been up there with Jarrett on the adrenaline rush limb ~ I have a fear of heights, but love the excitement that comes from places such as that! Lots of love, hugs & kisses…..keep on keepin’ on!
i agree i did not realize how much of a baby I was! this trip to Laos is really toughening me up. I would have love to see you on the top branch-you are the coolest aunt! love you too
